To celebrate the Latin American launch of World of Warcraft on Friday, July 25, we held a midnight signing at the Blockbuster Pilares in Col. Del Valle, Mexico, followed by a two-day event at the Plaza Satélite mall in Estado de Mexico featuring 3v3 Arena competitions, leveling contests, and more. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to join us -- and if you couldn’t make it, we hope you enjoy this quick recap.

Blockbuster Midnight Signing

A line of players formed outside the Blockbuster Pilares store waiting to be among the first to pick up the Latin American version of World of Warcraft. Members of the development and community teams got to meet a big segment of the Latin American community for the first time, and players had the chance to get their World of Warcraft boxes and posters signed. Together, we marked the moment when the Latin American dedicated realms went live.

Plaza Satélite Mall Event

When we arrived at the Plaza Satélite mall at 7 a.m., several members of the Latin American World of Warcraft community were already waiting to greet us. At the event, we met with players, signing their World of Warcraft items and taking photos with them. People walking by could try World of Warcraft at demo stations, and we sent them home with 14-day trial DVDs as well as Burning Crusade posters. World of Warcraft veterans engaged in leveling contests and Arena matches -- and on the second day, they got the chance to test their skills against a Blizzard Entertainment Arena team.

We would once again like to thank everyone for giving us the opportunity to meet you and share some good times -- and we hope to see you again soon.
