When a character changes races within their faction, some of their character-specific information is translated into those of their new race when appropriate. The full extent of these translations can be found below.

Reputations

When a character changes races, their home city reputation level is swapped for the home city of their new race. For example, if a Night Elf character changed races to become a Draenei, the character's reputation levels with Darnassus and Exodar would switch values. All other reputations would remain as they were.

Mounts

When a character changes races, the mounts associated with their original race are exchanged for those of their new race. For example, if a Tauren character changed races to become an Orc, the character's Kodos would be exchanged for Wolves, and their existing Wolves would be exchanged for Kodos.

Discontinued epic mounts such as the Ivory Raptor and Ancient Frostsaber will not be converted or otherwise affected in any way by a race change, and a character who changes races will still be able to ride their 'old' discontinued mounts.

Use the drop-down menus below to see how home city mounts will convert in a specific racial pairing.

* Some races have three varieties of the normal-speed mounts (require 75 riding skill), while others have four. The 'fourth' mount will not translate in a race change (if the new race only has three mounts), and will remain unchanged.
