Information

Mounts are available to everyone at level 20.
    • Apprentice Riding (Skill 75): Can be learned at level 20 for 4 gold.
    • Journeyman Riding (Skill 150): Can be learned at level 40 for 50 gold.
    • Expert Riding (Skill 225): Can be learned at level 60 for 250 gold from trainers in Honor Hold or Thrallmar. Faction discounts now apply (Honor Hold for Alliance; Thrallmar for Horde).

Players can purchase and train mounts from other races in their faction. However, you will first need to obtain "exalted" reputation status with that race in order to do so. Mounts of the opposing faction are not available for purchase.

Warlocks and Paladins have a level 20 and level 40 quest for their special mounts. Paladin Epic Mount quest: To begin, talk to the paladin trainers Duthorian Rall or Brandur Ironhammer. Warlock Epic Mount quest: To begin, speak with a demon trainer in any of the capital cities: Kurgal, Martha Strain, Spackle Thornberry, or Jubahl Corpseeker.

The cast time for summoning any ground mount is 1.5 seconds.

There are rare mounts out there to discover!

All Mounts are Bind on Pickup. You cannot sell your mount because people used to sell their mount by mistake back when it was allowed.

Mount Storage

A new storage system was implemented in 2008 for your ground and flying mounts. They now no longer take up bag or bank space. You now "learn" each mount, once you get them, similar to a spell. You can carry all of your mounts around at once and summon them whenever you want. The same system is used for companion pets.

Press "Shift-P" to open up your pet menu. You will then see a list of all of the pets you have. Right click on any of your existing pets to store them. If you want to summon a pet more quickly, drag the icon to one of your action bars.

Tips

By engaging in PvP combat and earning Battleground tokens, players can gain the right to purchase mounts of great power. Click here to see what mounts are available to each race.

Place your "summon mount" item on your action bar for faster usage.

Using abilities and casting spells that cannot be used while mounted will auto-dismount players as needed. This can be disabled by turning off the auto-dismount option in the UI options.
